Job Title: Fibre Installation Field Representative – BDO Collection

About Us:
We are part of an expanding fibre optic installation project. We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Field Representative to assist with property evaluations and collect signed BDO (Build Design Overview) forms from homeowners who have already expressed interest in fibre optic installation. This is not a sales role—your job is to finalize and document the technical scope of work for each property.
Responsibilities:
Go door-to-door to meet with customers listed in our dispatch system.
Review and explain the fibre installation plan (BDO form) to homeowners.
Assess property to determine:
Scope of work
Required length of conduit run in meters
If Directional drilling or hand spading is required
If double drilling is necessary
Whether concrete cutting or coring is needed (and required size)
Presence of tree roots, gravel, interlock, or other factors contributing to high-cost labour
Whether sight holes via hydrovac are required, and how many
Mark the work needed clearly on the BDO form and collect the homeowner’s signature.
Communicate job-specific information to admin, including all high-cost justifications and pending work.
Coordinate regularly with dispatch and office staff to ensure all necessary addresses are visited.
Requirements:
Experience in fibre, utility, or construction site work is preferred.
Strong understanding of common excavation and installation methods (hydrovac, drilling, trenching, etc.)
Ability to estimate labour requirements and assess job complexity.
Comfortable working independently and communicating with both customers and admin staff.
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
Experience with BDO forms or similar work documentation.
Background in telecommunications or electrical utility work.
Training will be provided.
