Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Dump Truck Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating dump trucks to transport materials across job sites, ensuring efficient and timely delivery. This role requires a focus on safety, attention to detail, and proficiency with heavy equipment. Experience with forklift operation, freight handling, and automotive repair is a plus. The Dump Truck Operator plays a vital role in supporting construction, mining, or industrial projects by maintaining smooth logistical operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks to transport materials such as gravel, dirt, or debris to designated locations on-site or off-site
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
- Load and unload materials efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, loads, and mileage for reporting purposes
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding schedules and operational issues
- Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on trucks as needed, including automotive repairs when necessary
- Operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts when required for loading or unloading operations
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations to prevent accidents or injuries during operation
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for dump truck operation
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment, including dump trucks and forklifts
- Knowledge of freight handling, industrial safety standards, and traffic regulations
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and troubleshooting is preferred
- Strong attention to safety protocols and detail-oriented work ethic
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and work in outdoor environments in various weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Prior experience in construction, mining, or industrial settings is advantageous
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
