Account Executive — B2B SaaS in Martech
Location: Downtown Montreal | Type: Full-time, Permanent Compensation: CA$50,000–up to CA$120,000+ for top performers
The Role
Kangaroo is the customer marketing and segmentation platform for commerce with a tighter focus on the merchant relationship and a loyalty-native data layer that no competitor can match.
As an Account Executive, you'll own the full sales cycle for SMB and mid-market merchants — retail, eCommerce and hospitality brands — from first touch to close. You'll blend inbound speed-to-lead with structured outbound prospecting, using AI-assisted workflows and intent signals to find buyers who are ready to move.
If you're a consultative closer who gets energized by pipeline ownership and loves selling a product that genuinely moves the needle for customers, this is your seat.
What You'll Do
- Run a full-cycle sales motion across inbound leads and self-sourced outbound — with the support of AI-powered prospecting and sequencing tools
- Use trigger-event signals (new store openings, funding rounds, platform migrations, competitive churn indicators) to prioritize your outbound attack surface
- Lead discovery and demo conversations that connect Kangaroo's segmentation and marketing automation capabilities to each prospect's specific growth goals
- Build and manage a healthy pipeline across CRM — tracking activity, velocity, and risk with discipline
- Partner with Marketing on campaign feedback, and with Customer Success on handoffs that set accounts up for rapid activation
- Represent the voice of the buyer internally — your deal insights shape roadmap, messaging, and positioning
- Hit and exceed monthly and quarterly quota; top performers reach six figures inside the first full year.
Who You Are
- You have 3–5 years of full-cycle SaaS sales experience, ideally in martech, commerce tech, or CRM/loyalty adjacent categories
- You're a builder, not a passenger — you don't wait for inbound to fill your pipeline
- You run tight discovery, know how to multi-thread, and close without discounting
- You're already using AI in your sales workflow — for research, outreach, prep, or follow-up — and you're curious about what's coming next
- You communicate with clarity in English (written and verbal) and can hold your own on a complex platform demo
- You're coachable, data-literate, and hold yourself accountable to the numbers
- You're camera-ready and client-facing by nature — polished, professional, great demeanour on Zoom, and comfortable representing the brand in every interaction.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years in SaaS or software solution sales, full-cycle
- Proven ability to self-source pipeline through outbound
- Strong consultative discovery and demo skills
- Comfort selling to business owners, marketers, CMOs and ops leads simultaneously
- Experience with CRM hygiene and pipeline management
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English is required. Fluency in French or Spanish is a significant asset — we actively serve markets where both languages open doors, and bilingual or trilingual candidates will stand out.
Tool Proficiency
- CRM: HubSpot (preferred) or Salesforce
- Sequencing / Outbound: Apollo, Outreach, or equivalent
- AI Tools: Claude, ChatGPT, or similar for research, outreach drafting, and call prep
- Call Intelligence: Gong or Chorus (nice to have)
- Commerce Context: Familiarity with Lightspeed, Shopify, WooCommerce, Big Commerce or other POS/retail environments
- Communication: Zoom, Google Meet, Teams
- Productivity: Google Workspace
Nice to Have
- Experience selling to the Retail, eCommerce and hospitality verticals
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, etc.)
- Understanding of loyalty, CRM, or customer marketing concepts
