We are seeking motivated and safety focused individuals to join our team as casual, call in Electrician at the Pine Cove Mill in Ming’s Bight, NL. As an Electrician, you’ll be part of a dynamic team. Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the Electrician engages in a variety of duties and responsibilities. Your responsibilities will include:
Your Role in the Expedition:
- Adhere to and support all health, safety and environmental rules and procedures and company policies.
- Install electrical systems and related electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
- Perform duties in accordance with all applicable federal and provincial safety laws and regulations, and all applicable company safety rules and operating procedures.
- Follow safe work systems and practices, identify and manage risk in all aspects of work to maintain a safe working environment.
- Other related duties as assigned.
What you bring to the Field:
- Minimum Third Year Electrical Apprentice up to Journeyperson certification
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Experience in an industrial, mining, mill, or processing environment is considered an asset
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and code specifications
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental practices
- Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to follow operating procedures
- Physically able to perform demanding work, including lifting, bending, standing, and working outdoors
- Willingness and availability to work on a casual, call-in basis
Working Conditions
- Long periods of standing.
- Heavy lifting up to 50lbs.
- Use of small tools and equipment.
- Walking and working on uneven terrain.
- Exposure to outdoor environments, including extreme heat, cold, and inclement weather.
