We are seeking a dedicated Parts Technician to join our team in the Oil and Gas sector. This role is crucial for maintaining our operational efficiency by managing parts inventory and ensuring timely availability of components. Job Summary:
The Parts Technician plays a critical role in supporting the operations of the compression shop by sourcing, receiving, managing, and distributing parts and materials needed for the repair, maintenance, and assembly of gas compression equipment. This position requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of mechanical components, and excellent organizational skills to ensure timely availability and accuracy of inventory.
Responsibilities:
- Research and procure parts needed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Provide both internal and external customers with quoting, sourcing and delivery of parts orders and follow-through on requests
- Interact with all vendors to confirm nonstock items for sourcing, price and delivery
- Ensure proper coding and processing is complete on Sales invoicing
- Maintain, organize and issue inventory
- Ensure appropriate amounts of inventory are maintained at all times
- Deliver and pick up parts/materials as needed
- Receive and resolve customer concerns.
- Develop, maintain and enhance positive professional relationships with external and internal customers. Practice legendary customer service.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse at all times
- Load and unload materials as necessary
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform daily, weekly and monthly cycle counts, yearly inventory counts
- Comply with all company Quality, Health and Safety regulations and work procedures.
- Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
- Other shipping, receiving and general warehousing tasks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certificate or diploma in Parts/Materials Management, Heavy Duty Mechanics, or related field (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in a parts or inventory role, ideally in a mechanical or industrial setting (compression, oil & gas, or heavy equipment).
- Familiarity with gas compression components (e.g., valves, pistons, bearings, gaskets, filters, etc.) is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in inventory software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a shop/warehouse environment.
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain) is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
