Gusto 501 brings an authentic, community-driven culinary experience to Toronto’s east end. In partnership with award-winning architecture and design firm, Partisans, Gusto 54 Restaurant Group has transformed the once-auto body shop at 501 King St. East into four stories of open-air dining space. This architecturally significant addition to Toronto’s Corktown neighbourhood is punctuated by a floor-to-ceiling glass façade and reclaimed terracotta accents.
The Role:

Curate an Awesome Guest Experience

Follow and enforce systems to ensure consistency in product and service

Touch tables and build rapport with Guests and perform quality investigations

Maintain Pristine Physical Plant
-
Perform Guest recoveries when necessary
-
Create a Supportive, Safe and Growth Oriented Work Environment

Foster an environment of happy people making people happy

Conduct Pre-Shift meetings
-
Audit Staff performances and give in the moment feedback

Work Safely in accordance with Health & Safety Act

Hold regular training meetings to consistently develop knowledge and skills of team members

Manage Daily Operations

Perform Comps, Voids and other POS functions

Employee Scheduling
-
Ensure restaurant is scheduled to maintain optimal profit margins

Check Inventory, order FOH Supplies
-
Inspect and sign for incoming orders
-
Open/Close restaurant in accordance with daily checklists
-
Follow and Enforce Company Policies and Procedures
-
Cash handling & reconciliation
-
Continually Develop Management Skills
-
Ongoing development of product knowledge
-
Use strategic thinking when collaborating with GM on new systems and processes

Keeping up to date with Industry Trends
Who You Are:
The right person for this role has a strong hospitality leadership background and prioritizes both guest and team member experience. The ideal candidate is equal parts people and process-driven with an aptitude for creating efficiencies at all levels of the business.
Preference will be given to those who possess:

A minimum of two (2) years in a management or supervisory role

Proficient in full-service restaurant functions
-
Excellent communication skills at all levels of an organization

Strategic, entrepreneurial and innovative thinker

Valid First Aid, Smart Serve, WHMIS Certification
-
Passionate, positive, and approachable
