Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of the staff and campers at Camp Kadimah in Barss Corner near Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring property, preventing loss, and maintaining a secure and sage environment through proactive surveillance and enforcement of safety protocols. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong observation skills, and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents.
Duties
- Conduct regular patrols of the facility to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV systems, to oversee all areas of the property.
- Enforce security policies and procedures to prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
- Respond promptly to alarms or emergency situations, coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
- Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations for reporting purposes.
- Assist campers and employees by providing directions or information while maintaining security protocols.
- Conduct security checks on entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Support loss prevention efforts by identifying potential risks and implementing preventative measures.
Experience
- Prior experience in law enforcement, security services, or related fields is preferred.
- Knowledge of surveillance systems such as CCTV is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with loss prevention techniques and security best practices is advantageous.
- Strong observational skills with the ability to identify potential threats quickly.
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with team members and emergency responders.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations professionally. Pay: $16.75-$17.25 per hour
