JOB POSTING
PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Job Title: PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Status: 0.5 FTE, 975 hours per year
Location: In person and virtual care delivery to the EFry Health Centre, Surrey
Schedule: Monday – Friday, may include Saturdays depending on patient care needs
ABOUT EFRY HEALTH CENTRE:
In September 2023, the newly established EFry Health Centre emerged as a purpose-built facility in North Surrey. This clinic embodies innovation and multidisciplinary approaches, dedicated to offering comprehensive, holistic care to vulnerable women and children who live in deep poverty and may have complex healthcare needs.
To assist patients in building healthy futures and stable lives, the Centre brings together a primary care team with mental health, allied health, dentistry and nutrition in a gender-focused, trauma-informed, culturally safe environment. It also provides patients with direct pathways to the spectrum of social service supports offered by the EFry and its community partners. As part of the fully integrated care team, you will be supported in operating at the top of your license, providing whole-person care that will help change lives for the better.
We are recruiting for a Virtual or In-person Physiotherapist (PT) to join a shared care practice in a team-based healthcare environment with fully integrated health services driven by quality improvement. The PT performs a critical role in an interdisciplinary team focusing on health promotion and prevention activities across the lifespan with a focus on the deeply poor, marginalized, vulnerable population of women and children, including seniors that are supported by the EFry organizations and living within the catchment area. Supported by an on-site Cardiac Exercise Physiologist, the PT provides assessment, physiotherapy diagnosis and prognosis, treatment plan development, implementation and evaluation, and patient consultation and education to enable the patient to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes. The PT consults with other health professionals and develops, coordinates, and presents relevant resource material or educational sessions. It is the goal of the organization to ensure all patients feel safe, valued, respected, and cared for as they access health care services. The PT will be tasked to demonstrate improved access to primary care and quality of primary care for our population of vulnerable women and children. Due to extended hours of operation that may be needed, the PT must be willing to participate in evening and weekend hours at times.
SCOPE OF PRACTICE:
The PT will provide full- scope of services that would be commensurate with the breadth and depth of professional services provided by a full-time, full-service, PT, for the care of its patients and the health of the community within which it practices. The PT participates in approved physical therapy and interprofessional research, special projects, and program quality and safety activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Current full registration with the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia (CPTBC).
· Two (2) years recent related experience in community practice
