Nature du travail et responsabilités générales:
The teacher will be responsible for teaching English courses to students in Grades 7, 8, and 11, as well as EPT and FCT courses. The teacher will supervise student groups and deliver instruction in accordance with the Alberta curriculum.
In collaboration with the school administration and staff, the teacher will contribute to the educational mission of the school community in the areas of teaching and learning, culture, and language.
Exigences du poste:
- Alberta teaching certification or eligibility to obtain one;
- A Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent qualification;
- Experience teaching secondary school students;
- Bilingualism; knowledge of an additional language would be considered an asset;
- Knowledge of the Alberta Education curriculum;
- A positive, responsible, and self-motivated attitude;
- Good proficiency in spoken and written English;
- Strong understanding of the educational needs of students in a minority-language setting;
- Appreciation for the diversity of learners;
- Flexibility and motivation to contribute to the school community, the Francophone community, and extracurricular activities;
- Legal authorization to work in Canada without restrictions related to working with children;
- A valid criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector check.
