Account Executive
HostGenius | Fully Remote | Full-Time
Compensation: $70K–$90K CAD base plus OTE
Most AE roles hand you a phone and a prayer. This one hands you a calendar full of qualified meetings and says: close them.
HostGenius is a fast-growing platform helping vacation rental property managers run better businesses. Our setter machine is already booking high-quality meetings at volume. What we need now is a closer who can walk into those conversations, earn trust fast, and convert qualified prospects into members — without needing to be babysat through the process.
You won't be cold calling. You won't be building your own pipeline from scratch. You'll be stepping into live, qualified conversations with property managers who already raised their hand. Your job is to run the call, handle the objections, and get the deal done.
What You'll Actually Do
· Run qualified first calls with U.S.-based vacation rental property managers who've been booked by our setter team
· Own the full closing cycle — from first call through follow-up, proposal, and signed agreement
· Move prospects through a defined sales pipeline with discipline and urgency
· Handle standard-fit deals independently from first touch to close
· Escalate strategic or high-value opportunities to the CEO when the deal warrants it
· Execute clean handoffs to onboarding and community teams after close — no orphaned accounts
· Maintain CRM hygiene — pipeline notes, stage updates, and activity logging that the team can actually rely on
· Contribute to sales process improvement — what's working, what's breaking, what prospects keep asking that we don't have an answer for
What We're Looking For
· 2–4 years of full-cycle B2B closing experience — you've run discovery calls, handled objections, and signed contracts
· Proven ability to close inbound or warm leads (not just cold outbound hunters — this role is about conversion, not prospecting)
· Experience selling SaaS, membership, or managed services to small business owners or operators
· Comfort selling to owner-operators who are practical, skeptical, and want to see value fast
· Strong enough on the phone to hold a 30-minute conversation without a script and still stay on message
· Ability to work U.S. business hours — our market is U.S.-based vacation rental property managers
· CRM proficiency (HubSpot preferred) — you log your activity because you understand why it matters, not because someone reminded you
Nice to Have (But Not Required)
· Experience in short-term rental, hospitality, property management, or real estate tech
· Familiarity with the vacation rental ecosystem — Airbnb, VRBO, property management software
· Startup experience — you've sold for a company that was still figuring things out and you thrived in the ambiguity
· Experience working alongside BDR/setter teams and understanding what makes a clean handoff
Why This Role Is Different
· You're not building pipeline — it's being built for you. The setter machine is producing. Your job is to convert.
· You're selling a product that solves a real problem for real people. Vacation rental PMs are overwhelmed, underserved, and looking for help. This isn't a vitamin — it's a painkiller.
· You'll be one of the first AEs. That means direct access to the CEO, real input on the sales process, and the kind of career upside that doesn't exist at a company with 200 reps.
