Role Overview
We are looking for a Part-Time Pastry & Dessert Kitchen Assistant to help with the preparation, production, portioning, assembly, and organization of our desserts, pastries, and selected savoury items.
The role requires attention to detail, consistency, cleanliness, speed, and the ability to follow recipes and kitchen procedures accurately.

Main Responsibilities
- Prepare and assist with desserts, cakes, pastries, cookies, alfajores, creams, fillings, sauces, and other bakery items.
- Assist with selected savoury products such as empanadas, sandwiches, quiches, and other café items.
- Measure, mix, portion, bake, assemble, decorate, and package products according to Lima Café standards.
- Follow recipes, production sheets, and kitchen instructions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, equipment, tools, storage areas, fridges, and freezers.
- Follow proper food safety, sanitation, cooling, labelling, and storage procedures.
- Assist with daily prep lists, inventory organization, and restocking.
- Support production for regular café sales, catering orders, and pre-orders.
- Work efficiently while maintaining product quality and consistency.
- Communicate clearly with the manager and team about production status, shortages, mistakes, or quality concerns.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, bakery, pastry shop, café, restaurant, or food production environment is required.
- Basic pastry or baking experience is strongly preferred.
- FoodSafe Level 1 or equivalent is preferred. Willingness to obtain it if hired is required.
- Ability to follow recipes and written instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Comfortable working with measurements in grams and following standardized recipes.
- Ability to work independently after training.
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and responsible.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lb when needed.
- Flexible availability, including some weekends and busy production days.
- Basic English communication skills required.

Schedule
- Morning shifts (typically starting around 8:00 AM for kitchen prep)
- Some afternoon shifts for service support
