About the Role:
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Inspector is responsible for verifying product and process conformity through inspections, audits, testing, and quality verification activities. This role supports production quality, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance by identifying nonconformities and ensuring established quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Incoming Inspection:
- Inspect incoming materials and components to verify compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
In-Process Inspection:
- Perform in-process inspections and verify compliance with work instructions, drawings, and quality standards.
Final Inspection:
- Conduct final product inspections to ensure customer, regulatory, and company requirements are met prior to shipment.
Nonconformance Management:
- Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming materials, products, or processes
Quality Verification:
- Verify implementation of corrective actions, containment activities, and process controls.
Documentation & Records:
- Maintain inspection records, quality reports, and traceability documentation.
- Ensures inspection records are complete, precise, and audit-ready.
Process Compliance:
- Support Layered Process Audits (LPA), quality audits, and verification of standard operating procedures.
Customer & Warranty Support:
- Assist with investigation activities related to customer complaints and warranty claims.
- Participate in process improvement, by supporting corrective actions, failure analysis, etc.
Qualifications:
- Experience in regulated manufacturing environments, in charge of inspection, quality assurance, or related roles.
- Experience using inspection tools and measurement equipment.
- Internal Auditor training is considered an asset.
Technical skills:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical specifications and work instructions.
- Knowledge of inspection methods and measurement equipment.
- Knowledge of quality standards i.e. ISO 9001,
- Basic understanding of Root Cause Analysis and corrective action processes.
- Strong documentation and record management skills.
- Process & Procedure Compliance.
Power/human skills:
- Attention to Detail: Detects defects, inconsistencies, and missing information to help prevent quality issues from reaching customers.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Identifies nonconforming materials, products, or processes and supports appropriate containment or corrective actions.
- Communication & Collaboration: Works effectively with production and quality teams to communicate concerns and support timely resolution.
- Accountability: Takes ownership of inspection activities and ensures records, findings, and follow-ups are completed accurately.
- Process Discipline: Follows work instructions, procedures, and quality standards consistently to support compliance and product reliability.
Remuneration: CA$45,000 to CA$52,000 annually
