We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to support the Head Cook in leading our kitchen team. This role is ideal for someone who is ready to take on greater responsibility, enjoys mentoring others, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The Sous Chef plays a key role in maintaining food quality, kitchen organization, and smooth daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Cook with daily kitchen operations and service execution
- Prepare and cook menu items to established recipes and presentation standards
- Supervise and support line cooks and prep staff during service
- Help coordinate prep lists and ensure stations are fully stocked and organized
- Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and cleanliness
- Monitor portion control and assist with minimizing food waste
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Step into a leadership role in the absence of the Head Cook
- Assist with inventory counts, ordering, and receiving deliveries
- Contribute ideas for specials and seasonal menu features
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Line Cook ready for advancement
- Solid knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to lead by example and support team development
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays during the season
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
