We are seeking a warehouse worker with a valid Class 1 driver’s license to assist with daily warehouse operations and safely operate Class 1 commercial vehicles as required. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Worker is responsible for moving, shipping, storing, and unloading various materials either by hand or with the use of machinery such as a forklift, as well as transporting materials to and from job sites, performing vehicle inspections, securing loads, and maintaining required driving documentation. This is a permanent, full-time position.
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
- Operate Class 1 vehicles safely and professionally
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
- Ensure loads are properly secured and within legal weight limits
- Transport freight to designated locations on time and safely
- Comply with traffic laws, hours-of-service, and company policies
- Maintain accurate logbooks
- Complete delivery documentation (bills of lading, trip reports)
- Monitor vehicle performance and report defects or maintenance issues
- Drive safely in varying weather, traffic, and road conditions
- Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and customers as required
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule
- Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store)
- Assist in preparation with supplies/tools for upcoming jobs
- Count, sort, weigh, and unpack materials
- Loading and unloading tool cribs
- Unpacking tools/supplies from previous jobs
- Fixing tools as directed
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
- Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES:
- Safe operation of Class 1 tractor-trailers
- Vehicle maneuvering: reversing, parking, coupling/uncoupling trailers
- Load handling and securing (straps, chains, tarps)
- Route planning and time management for deliveries
- Use of fleet management technology, GPS, and electronic logs (ELD)
- Basic vehicle troubleshooting and minor maintenance
- Commercial driving regulations (provincial and federal)
- Hours-of-service, weight limits, and cargo compliance requirements
- Air brake systems and other vehicle systems (mechanical and safety)
- Road safety, defensive driving, and accident-avoidance techniques
- Pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspection procedures
- Forklift or warehouse equipment operation
- Effective verbal, written and listening communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Very effective organization skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Valid Class 1 license required
- Clean driving record
- Proven working experience in a Warehouse or similar
- Knowledge with basic tools
