Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. This role involves operating various types of forklifts and equipment to efficiently manage inventory, order picking, and warehouse distribution tasks. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge, experience with warehouse management systems, and the ability to perform heavy lifting. Duties
- Safely operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to move materials throughout the warehouse
- Load and unload goods from trucks, storage areas, and shelving units
- Perform order picking accurately using warehouse management systems and order picking techniques
- Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and equipment, reporting any maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Assist with inventory management by organizing stock and maintaining accurate records
- Use basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities during operations
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment for all team members
- Support warehouse distribution processes by efficiently managing material flow within the facility
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklifts, clamp trucks, and other warehouse equipment
- Mechanical knowledge related to forklift maintenance and troubleshooting is preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picking procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds or more) as required by daily tasks
- Basic math skills for inventory counts and measurements
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution or logistics is a plus
- Valid forklift certification/license is required or must be obtained upon hire
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with physical stamina for long shifts
Pay: $21.50 per hour
