Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aides to provide exceptional support and care to our seniors in their home environment. This role involves assisting with daily activities, medication administration assistance, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. A strong commitment to caregiving and patient well-being is essential to ensure the highest quality of life for those we serve.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Provide Medication assistance ( as certified)
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding if necessary
- Help with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a hygienic environment
- Accompany clients to appointments and outings.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a caring and respectful atmosphere
- Document care provided accurately and report any changes in client condition to supervising staff
- Work with individuals with diverse needs, including those with dementia or disabilities, ensuring safety and comfort at all times
Requirements
- Registered with the College of LPNS and HCAS of Alberta.
- HCA certificate with Medication administration course.
- Minimum 3 months paid caregiving experience.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable vehicle .
- Clean Criminal record.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a home- care setting.
- Availability for shifts( 3 hour to 12 hour, overnights).
- Experience working with seniors highly desirable .
- Knowledge of dementia care.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for mobility assistance or transfers
- Familiarity with caregiving best practices, including infection control and safety procedures.
