Matrix HR is partnering with a leading North American Energy Infrastructure Client company to recruit a Training Systems (Learning) Analyst to support its HR Training Services & Systems team!
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented reporting and learning systems professional looking to further develop their experience supporting enterprise learning operations. In this role, you'll help maintain learning systems, reporting dashboards, and operational processes that support compliance, training, and business reporting across the organization.
Position Summary
The Training Systems (Learning) Analyst supports the day-to-day operation of enterprise learning systems and reporting platforms within the HR Training Services & Systems team.
This role supports three core operational functions:
- Learning reporting and dashboard operations.
- Ticket management.
- Learning Management System (LMS) administration and governance.
Power BI is the primary technical requirement for this role. You'll be responsible for maintaining enterprise learning dashboards, supporting reporting operations, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of learning data used across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Training Systems (Learning) Analyst, you will:
- Learning Reporting & Dashboard Operations
- Maintain Power BI and Power Apps dashboards that consolidate learning data from Workday Learning and SuccessFactors.
- Own monthly dashboard refresh and publishing cycles.
- Manage dashboard access and monitor automated refresh processes, troubleshooting failures as they arise.
- Produce ad hoc reports and assist business stakeholders in understanding learning data.
- Analyze learning data to identify trends, anomalies, and meaningful insights that support business decision-making.
- Learning Systems Administration & Governance
- Administer Workday Learning, including user access, role changes, onboarding, and permissions.
- Support SuccessFactors reporting and data extracts.
- Maintain learning documentation, job aids, and system procedures.
- Support learning system releases and ensure documentation remains current.
- Monitor automated reporting processes and troubleshoot issues as required.
- Support governance activities by maintaining accurate system access, documentation, and operational processes.
- Ticket Management & Operational Support
- Manage learning-related requests through the ServiceNow ticket queue.
- Triage, troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate support requests as appropriate.
- Assist employees and business partners with course access and end-to-end learning process inquiries.
- Deliver responsive, professional customer service while supporting internal stakeholders across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Human Resources, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Approximately 3-6 years of experience supporting learning systems administration, HRIS, reporting, business intelligence, or a related analytical role.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting Power BI dashboards in an enterprise environment, including dashboard refreshes, publishing, access management, and troubleshooting refresh failures.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze learning data, identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights, and communicate findings clearly to non-technical business stakeholders.
- Experience working within complex enterprise reporting environments supporting multiple integrated systems.
- Experience administering an enterprise Learning Management System (LMS), with direct Workday Learning administration strongly preferred. SuccessFactors reporting experience is considered an asset.
- Experience supporting ticket management processes using ServiceNow or a similar enterprise ticketing platform.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage recurring operational responsibilities while responding to changing business priorities.
- Experience supporting audits, compliance reporting, or regulated business processes is considered an asset.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create user documentation, job aids, and training materials.
- Sound judgment when handling confidential employee information.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid work permit).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct administration experience with Workday Learning.
- Experience with SuccessFactors reporting and data extracts.
- Experience within the energy, oil & gas, utilities, or industrial sectors supporting compliance-driven learning environments.
- Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Teams administration.
- Exposure to automation tools and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with HR data models, learning systems, and enterprise compliance reporting practices.
Technical Skills
- Power BI – Dashboard maintenance, publishing, access management, troubleshooting, and refresh management.
- Workday Learning – Learning Management System administration.
- SuccessFactors – Reporting and data extraction.
- Power Apps – Dashboard support.
- ServiceNow – Ticket management, issue resolution, and escalation.
- Microsoft 365 – Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience supporting automated reporting and dashboard refresh processes.
Ideal Candidate:
We're looking for an intermediate-level reporting analyst or HRIS/LMS professional with approximately 3-6 years of experience supporting enterprise learning systems and reporting environments.
The ideal candidate enjoys working in a structured operational environment, has strong hands-on Power BI experience, and takes pride in producing accurate reporting while delivering excellent customer service to internal stakeholders. Previous experience supporting compliance-driven learning environments within the energy, utilities, or industrial sectors is considered a strong asset.
Location & Work Schedule:
This position is based in Calgary, Alberta and follows a hybrid work schedule designed to support collaboration while providing flexibility.
- Location: Calgary, AB
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid – Onsite Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday; Remote Wednesday and Friday.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- Hours: 40 hours per week.
- Overtime: Rare and operationally dependent. Candidates must be available to provide Friday coverage during extended long weekends when operationally required.
- Travel: None.
- Contract Duration: This is a full-time, fixed-term contract beginning June 22, 2026 and continuing through April 4, 2027.
