Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction painting, carpentry, and general handyman tasks. This role involves working on various building projects, applying finishes, and ensuring quality craftsmanship. The Taper will play a vital part in delivering high-quality results on time and within specifications, contributing to the successful completion of our projects.
Duties
- Apply drywall joint compound (mud) and tape to seams and joints for smooth finishes
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming prior to taping or painting
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate application of materials
- Perform caulking around windows, doors, and other fixtures to ensure proper sealing
- Assist with carpentry tasks as needed, including measuring, cutting, and installing trim or other components
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete taping and finishing tasks
- Maintain a clean work area and ensure all safety protocols are followed during operations
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting, drywall taping, or related trades
- Knowledge of construction processes, carpentry, caulking, and blueprint reading
- Handyman experience preferred with the ability to perform multiple trade tasks as needed
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are preferred but not required
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Pay: $15.00-$32.00 per hour
