We are seeking a skilled and experienced Grader Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment to perform grading and other earthmoving tasks on construction sites. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with various types of heavy machinery including graders, bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and backhoes. The Grader Operator plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of grading work to support successful project completion.
This position will require you to commute and work in Northern Saskatchewan for extended periods of time.
Duties
- Operate grader equipment to level and prepare surfaces
- Assist with the operation of dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, and other heavy machinery as needed
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Follow project specifications and safety protocols to deliver precise grading results
- Coordinate with team members to execute site plans efficiently
- Support paving operations by providing accurate grading for roadways and other surfaces
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly
- Conduct site assessments and adjust operations based on terrain and project requirements
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and report any issues or discrepancies
Skills
- Proven experience operating graders, bulldozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, and other heavy equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation on construction sites
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications accurately
- Valid operator’s license with experience in commercial driving is a plus
