Role Description
The Dock Worker at Klondike Cold Storage is responsible for efficiently managing the loading, unloading, and organization of goods, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to safety protocols. This onsite role requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled warehouse environment, including cold storage areas. The position emphasizes strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and safe operation of warehouse equipment.
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Afternoon Shift: Monday– Friday 2:30pm – 11:00pm; hours may vary
Location: Klondike Cold Storage (Surrey)
Duties & Responsibilities
- Load and unload trucks safely, minimizing product damage.
- Organize and prioritize shipments to support efficient warehouse operations.
- Inspect shipments for accuracy and verify documentation.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and warehouse equipment following safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized dock and storage areas.
- Work in cold storage environments (-2°C to -35°C) using appropriate PPE.
- Follow all cold storage safety procedures and company policies.
- Assist with inventory counting, labeling, and organization.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily deadlines and operational goals.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse and/or cold storage facility experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of safe material handling practices.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physically able to perform repetitive lifting, bending, and standing.
- Comfortable working in cold and freezer environments.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Forklift, reach truck, or pallet jack experience preferred (valid certification an asset).
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when required.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
