Akribia Framing Ltd. is a growing construction company based in Kelowna, specializing in residential framing and construction projects. We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper who is very experienced with QuickBooks and understands the financial side of the construction industry.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day bookkeeping and financial records as well as cost tracking per job. This role requires strong knowledge of QuickBooks, construction cost tracking, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online
- Enter and categorize daily transactions accurately
- Track project costs and job costing for multiple construction projects
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare financial statements including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process and track subcontractor invoices and payments
- Maintain accurate records of project expenses and cost allocations
- Assist with GST filings and remittances
- Assist with payroll coordination and payroll entries
- Maintain organized digital records and documentation
- Support management with financial reporting and budgeting
- Work with accountants to prepare year-end financial records
- Track construction holdbacks and progress payments
- Assist with WCB reporting and remittances
- Ensure financial records comply with Canadian accounting standards
Qualifications
- Strong experience using QuickBooks (Online preferred)
- Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably in the construction industry
- Knowledge of job costing and project cost tracking
- Experience preparing financial statements
- Understanding of GST, payroll entries, and reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
