Kitchen Closer / Cleaning & Sanitation Associate
Ça Va Bakery is looking for a reliable and hardworking team member to take responsibility for evening cleaning and closing duties. This position is essential to ensuring the bakery is clean, sanitized, organized, and fully prepared for the next business day.
Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, baking trays, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Clean and sanitize work surfaces, sinks, and food preparation areas
- Clean ovens, racks, mixers, and other bakery equipment
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and maintain floors throughout the bakery
- Clean walls, storage areas, washrooms, and other facility areas as needed
- Take out garbage
- Complete scheduled deep-cleaning tasks
- Follow detailed cleaning and closing checklists
- Ensure all sanitation standards are met before leaving
- Report maintenance, cleaning, or safety concerns to management
Requirements
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining high standards
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks without direct supervision
- Comfortable performing physically demanding cleaning tasks
- Comfortable working with commercial cleaning and sanitizing products
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 kg (44 lbs)
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Previous kitchen, or cleaning experience is an asset but not required
Work Environment
This position involves regular use of commercial cleaning products and degreasers, cleaning bakery equipment, and performing deep-cleaning tasks. The role requires standing, bending, lifting, and moving throughout the shift.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the bakery is thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and ready for production the following day.
Pay: $15.90-$16.25 per hour
