Overland Container Transportation Services is currently looking for an experienced Loader Operator to join our Acheson operation.
The primary responsibility of this position is the safe and efficient operation of a loader in support of our yard and operational activities. When loader work is not required, the successful candidate will be expected to assist with general labour, yard, and material-handling duties as needed.
This is a hands-on operational position, and we are looking for someone who is comfortable contributing wherever required to support the team.
Previous loader operating experience and a valid loader operator ticket/certification are required. Forklift experience is considered an asset but is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a loader in support of yard and operational activities
- Move, stage, load, unload, and position materials and equipment as required
- Complete required pre-use and equipment inspections
- Report equipment deficiencies, damage, or unsafe conditions promptly
- Follow OCTS safety procedures and safe operating practices
- Assist with general labour and yard duties when loader work is not available
- Assist with material handling, cleanup, organization, and other operational tasks
- Work safely around trucks, trailers, containers, and heavy equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Support other members of the operations team as required
- Perform other reasonable duties associated with the position
Qualifications
- Loader operating experience is required
- Valid loader operator ticket/certification is required
- Experience in a yard, transportation, transload, construction, industrial, or similar environment is preferred
- Forklift experience/certification is an asset
- Comfortable performing general labour duties in addition to loader operation
- Strong safety awareness
- Able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
- Reliable and punctual
- Physically capable of performing general labour duties
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to Acheson is required
Pay: $25.00 per hour
