Company Overview
We are seeking an experienced Class 1 Winch Truck Driver to join our dynamic team, specializing in oil field logistics and transportation. Based in Leduc, AB, our company provides reliable, on-demand transport services to the energy sector. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating winch tractors and bed trucks to load, transport, and unload critical oilfield equipment, structures, and materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Winch Operations: Safely operate Class 1 winch trucks to load and unload heavy oilfield equipment, including skids, tanks, shacks, and machinery.
- Rigging & Securement: Proficiently handle winching cables, chains, binders, and straps to ensure all loads are properly secured according to transport regulations and safety standards.
- Off-Road Driving: Navigate challenging terrain, lease roads, and active oilfield sites safely under various weather conditions.
- Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections, documenting and reporting any deficiencies.
- Compliance & Safety: Strictly adhere to all commercial driving regulations, hours of service (HOS), and oilfield safety protocols.
- Communication: Maintain clear, professional communication with dispatch, swamper/field crew, and clients regarding delivery timelines and site conditions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate electronic logbooks, bills of lading, inspection reports, and safety paperwork.
Qualifications & Requirements
- License: Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean, commercial driver’s abstract.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of Winch Truck operating experience within the oil and gas industry.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in rigging, winching procedures, and heavy load securement.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts based on operational demand.
- Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and capable of handling heavy rigging equipment and working outdoors in various weather elements.
- Certifications: Valid H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, and WHMIS certifications are highly preferred.
- Technology: Familiarity with GPS navigation and electronic logging devices (ELD).
