Job Description
As an Apprentice Renovator, you will work under the guidance of a Renovator or Lead Renovator, performing various duties on residential and commercial work sites. You will collaborate with a team of skilled tradespeople to carry out tasks related to the construction and maintenance of buildings. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities
- Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy machinery, and company vehicles under the direction of management.
- Assist with residential construction tasks including framing, drywalling, flooring, tiling, trim & door installation, cabinetry, painting, and window/door installations.
- Assist in the demolition process and site clean-up activities.
- The ability to independently manage small projects and tasks without direct supervision, while overseeing assistance in areas such as demolition, framing, drywall, tiling, and more.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from the site.
- Mix, pour, and handle a variety of materials, including hazardous solutions.
- Perform landscaping tasks such as removing, filling, or compacting soil, stone, and other materials.
- Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
- Assist Lead Renovators, Renovators, Site Foremen, and other skilled professionals.
- Maintain a safe and organized job site, ensuring proper storage of materials, tools, and equipment when not in use.
- Participate in on-the-job training as required to develop new skills.
Requirements
- Have access to a car for work-related duties
- Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks
- Ability to lift and carry weight up to 66 pounds
- Ability to work in all weather environments
- Be at least 16 years of age and a Canadian citizen.
- Have CSA approved steel-toe safety footwear, eye protection & hard hat.
- Fall Arrest certification
- WHMIS certification
- Previous experience is not required, though construction industry experience considered an asset.
Expectations:
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Arrive at work on time and remain until essential tasks are completed.
- Follow health and safety guidelines and report any incidents to management immediately.
- Take initiative to complete tasks without direct supervision when required.
Pay: $20.00-$26.00 per hour
