Position Description
Reporting directly to the CEO/Founder, the Senior Training Manager / Director, Training & Development will lead the organization's learning, leadership development, operational training, and talent capability strategies. This role is responsible for creating scalable training systems that support company growth, operational consistency, leadership succession, and franchise success.
The successful candidate will serve as a key strategic partner to the Founder and executive leadership team, ensuring that all training programs, tools, and processes align with Real Fruit Bubble Tea's vision, values, operational standards, and expansion objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's long-term learning and development strategy across corporate, management, and frontline teams.
- Design and implement scalable training systems that support rapid growth across Canada and the United States.
- Build leadership development programs for Store Managers, Multi-Unit Store Managers, Regional Managers, and future leaders.
- Establish succession planning and talent development frameworks to strengthen leadership pipelines across the organization.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Training team while establishing clear performance expectations and accountability measures.
- Partner closely with the Founder and executive team to identify capability gaps and develop targeted learning solutions.
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of training manuals, SOPs, operational playbooks, certification programs, and digital learning content.
- Develop and implement Learning Management Systems (LMS), training technology platforms, and digital learning strategies.
- Create engaging training content, including videos, e-learning modules, operational guides, assessments, and certification programs.
- Conduct regular field visits and operational audits to ensure consistent execution of training standards and operational excellence.
- Analyze training effectiveness through KPIs, operational performance metrics, employee development metrics, and ROI assessments.
- Lead training initiatives for new store openings, acquisitions, franchise partners, and operational rollouts.
- Collaborate with Operations, Marketing, HR, and IT to ensure training initiatives support business objectives.
- Establish quality assurance processes to ensure training programs remain current, effective, and aligned with operational requirements.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning, accountability, operational excellence, and leadership development.
- Stay informed on industry best practices, training methodologies, and emerging technologies to continuously improve learning effectiveness.
Expectations of a Successful Candidate
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Training, Learning & Development, Operations, or Organizational Development.
- 5+ years leading multi-location training teams within QSR, restaurant, hospitality, retail, or franchise environments.
- Demonstrated experience building enterprise-level training programs and leadership development frameworks.
- Experience supporting rapid business growth, multi-unit operations, and franchise systems.
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen with the ability to translate organizational goals into development initiatives.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive organizational change.
- Expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design, leadership development, and performance management.
- Experience implementing and managing Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Strong content development, video production, and training technology skills.
- Exceptional project management and execution capabilities.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel across Canada and the United States.
- Experience in food service, restaurant, QSR, retail, or franchise operations strongly preferred.
- French, Cantonese and/or Mandarin language skills are considered assets.
Salary Range: CAD $100,000 to $120,000+ per annum
