Our client is seeking an Intermediate Lead Civil/Structural Engineer to join their growing Vancouver team. This role will support the delivery of complex multidisciplinary projects across the mining, oil & gas, LNG, utilities, and industrial sectors.
Working closely with project managers, discipline leads, and clients, the successful candidate will provide technical leadership while remaining actively involved in engineering execution. The position offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from brownfield facility upgrades and sustaining capital work to major greenfield developments.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys balancing technical engineering, client interaction, project coordination, and mentorship responsibilities within a collaborative consulting environment.
- Lead civil and structural engineering scopes on multidisciplinary industrial projects
- Act as Engineer of Record for applicable projects
- Prepare and review structural calculations, specifications, technical reports, and design packages
- Design and assess steel structures, concrete foundations, equipment supports, pipe racks, buildings, and industrial infrastructure
- Coordinate with mechanical, process, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and geotechnical disciplines
- Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution activities
- Participate in client meetings and provide technical leadership throughout project delivery
- Review engineering deliverables to ensure quality and compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Mentor junior engineers and designers
- Participate in site visits, inspections, and construction support activities
- Support proposal preparation and business development initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- P.Eng. designation in British Columbia or eligibility for immediate registration
- 10+ years of Canadian consulting engineering experience
- Proven experience acting as Engineer of Record
- Experience leading civil and structural scopes within multidisciplinary project teams
- Experience supporting mining, oil & gas, LNG, industrial processing, or utility projects
- Strong understanding of Canadian structural design codes and standards
- Experience designing industrial facilities and infrastructure
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to mentor junior staff and support project delivery
