Job Overview
The Spray Shop Technician is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and operating spray equipment within a manufacturing environment. This role requires mechanical aptitude and familiarity with various tools and machinery to ensure high-quality coating applications. Responsibilities
- Operate spray booths and related equipment to apply coatings accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare surfaces and materials for spraying, including cleaning and masking as needed.
- Maintain and troubleshoot spray equipment, including power tools, hand tools, and mechanical components.
- Use cranes and forklifts to move heavy materials or components safely within the shop area.
- Perform basic assembly tasks and assist with machining or welding projects as required.
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs or potential hazards.
- Assist in implementing lean manufacturing practices to optimize workflow and reduce waste.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in machining, welding, or assembly processes.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, cranes, and forklifts.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to operate spray equipment efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in manufacturing or related technical fields is preferred but not required.
Pay: $32.00-$40.00 per hour
