About the faculty and department
Data analysis is one of the fastest emerging professions in Canada. The purpose of the Master of Data Analytics (MDA) program is to develop big data professionals who can grow in this high-demand career. Workplace problems frame and guide all learning in this program from real-world case studies, to Internships, to the capstone project, students build the specialty knowledge and technical competencies for a successful data analysis profession. The Master of Data Analytics (MDA) program provides the core training in the Data Science Lifecycle – from Problem Framing and Hypothesis Formulation to Data Exploration, Warehousing, Analysis, and Visualization.

Title: Assistant Professor – Master of Data Analytics
Location: Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada (Onsite)
Work arrangement: Onsite hybrid, Minimum 2 days per week
Reports To: Associate Dean - Master of Data Analytics
Expected hiring salary: Minimum salary $ 91,800

The Master of Data Analytics program invites applications for the position, Assistant Professor, Master Data Analytics. We are seeking highly qualified and motivated individuals to join our diverse faculty team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering graduate-level courses, mentoring students, and contributing to the continued growth and excellence of the program.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Graduate Supervision

Teach graduate-level courses in data analytics and related disciplines.

Develop and update course materials to reflect current industry trends and best practices.

Support student learning through advising, mentoring, and assessment.

Participate in program development and academic quality assurance initiatives.

Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to enhance student outcomes..
Research and Scholarly Activity

Establish and maintain an active research agenda in data analytics and related disciplines.

Publish in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

Pursue external research funding from government, industry, and funding agencies.

Collaborate with faculty, industry partners, and interdisciplinary research teams.

Engage graduate students in applied research initiatives.
Industry Engagement and Service

Build partnerships with industry, government, and community organizations.

Support program growth, curriculum enhancement, and accreditation activities.

Participate in departmental, faculty, and institutional committees.

Contribute to student recruitment, retention, and outreach initiatives.

Promote knowledge transfer and innovation through data analytics projects and collaborations.
Required Qualifications and Experience:

PhD in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related field.

Demonstrated teaching experience at the post-secondary level.

Strong knowledge of data analytics, statistical modeling, data visualization, machine learning, and business intelligence tools.

Experience with technologies such as Python, R, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and similar platforms.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Industry experience in data analytics or data science is considered an asset.

Certified AI Educator (CAIE) credential from PAII is an asset.
