Join Our Promotions Team as the Valley Vibes Summer Cruiser Host!
Are you passionate about radio, community engagement, and connecting with people? This exciting, temporary part-time role is your chance to represent and promote Vista Radio stations and their sponsors across the Okanagan this summer!
As the Valley Vibes Summer Cruiser Host, you’ll attend community events, record on-air ‘cut ins’ to highlight local happenings, and engage directly with listeners to bring our brands to life. You’ll work closely with the Promotions Director to ensure a strong on-site presence, seamless event execution, and engaging content across platforms.

What you'll do:
- Represent the stations and its sponsors at community events, ensuring a positive and professional brand presence.
- Attend and actively participate in local events, engaging with listeners and promoting station initiatives.
- Executing on-site promotions, contests, and activations.
- Support the setup, operation, and takedown of promotional equipment at events.
- Manage and distribute promotional materials and prizing in an organized and efficient manner.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of promotional items and assist with tracking distribution.
- Generate engaging content for all station platforms to promote the Valley Vibes Cruiser’s whereabouts and activities.
- Share live updates, photos, and videos from events to boost online engagement.
- Record on-air “cut ins” and updates to promote events and connect with listeners.
- Compile and maintain a calendar of events for the Valley Vibes Summer Cruiser.
- Maintain accurate records of promotional activities and compile a log of events for year-end reporting to sponsors.
- Submit detailed reports on event outcomes and promotional impact.
- Other promotions and administrative duties as assigned.
What you Bring:
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, outgoing, and engaging personality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing to a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable interacting with the public and representing the station in a professional manner.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
- Basic knowledge of social media platforms and content creation.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract and ability to be insured.
- Ability to lift and transport promotional materials and equipment as required.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Schedule
- Temporary, part-time position running from May long weekend through the end of August.
- Approximately 20 hours per week; hours may vary based on event schedules and operational needs.
- Primarily weekend shifts, with some weekday and evening shifts required.
- Availability to work holidays is required.
- Schedule will be flexible based on the summer events calendar.
Location
This position is based in Kelowna, BC, with travel required within the surrounding community to attend events.
