Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee multiple construction projects. Reporting to senior leadership, this role is responsible for overall project performance, including budgeting, scheduling, quality control, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for multiple construction projects
- Mentor, coach, and supervise project team members
- Ensure projects are completed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule
- Develop and implement detailed project plans and timelines
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities
- Establish and manage project reporting systems (cost tracking, scheduling, documentation)
- Monitor project performance, including cost forecasts, timelines, and safety compliance
- Interpret contract documents and manage contractual obligations
- Negotiate and manage subcontracts and major purchase orders
- Identify and process project changes, including cost and schedule impacts
- Oversee billing, progress payments, and financial reporting
- Lead project meetings and ensure clear communication among stakeholders
- Manage project close-outs
- Monitor budgets, costs, and profitability throughout project lifecycle
- Resolve conflicts and manage claims proactively
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and regulations
Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing commercial construction projects
- Proven experience overseeing projects from initiation to completion
- Background with mid-to-large general contractors preferred
- Professional certifications are considered an asset
- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, trades, and industry practices
- Familiarity with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and compliance standards
- Demonstrated experience in cost control and budget management
- Experience with labour relations and union environments considered an asset
- Proficiency with project management or accounting software is an asset
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Pay: $100,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
