About Us
Exploring Scholar is a rapidly growing K–12 enrichment center dedicated to academic rigor and innovative pedagogy. We've built a culture where educators focus on what they do best—teaching—while our administrative team handles student acquisition, scheduling, and family communications. Our modern facility and supportive environment attract top teaching talent.
The Opportunity
We're seeking a passionate English Language Arts specialist to lead small-group and one-on-one instruction at our North York campus. If you love helping students discover their voice as writers and readers, and you're energized by discussions of literature and language, this role offers meaningful, flexible work in a teacher-centric environment.
What You'll Do
- Build Strong Readers & Writers: Teach phonics, grammar, and composition to younger learners while guiding seniors through research essays and literary analysis
- Master Multiple Grade Levels: Seamlessly adapt your instruction from elementary reading confidence-building to high school university-preparatory literary theory
- Inspire Critical Thinking: Lead students to engage deeply with North American literature and develop sophisticated analytical skills
- Provide Meaningful Feedback: Assess student work with constructive, actionable insights that help learners grow
- Leverage Technology: Integrate our digital classroom tools to enhance in-person instruction and student engagement
The Position in a Nutshell
This is a core ELA role focused on reading, writing, and literary analysis—not ESL/ELL instruction. You'll work with small groups or individual students in a modern, well-resourced facility with minimal administrative burden.
What We're Looking For
- Subject Expertise: Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Literature, or related Humanities discipline
- Experienced Educator: Proven track record teaching or tutoring English Language Arts across elementary through high school levels
- Strong Academic Foundation: Demonstrated mastery of academic writing, literary criticism, and composition (assessed during interview)
- Availability: Reliable commitment to a minimum of 4 hours per week at our North York location
- Collaborative Spirit: Comfortable using our tech platform and working alongside a supportive teaching community
