Production Coordinator Position
This position will work collaboratively with the Logistics Coordinator, Receiving Coordinator and the Shipping Coordinator. This role will support the Gate Production Supervisor. The ideal candidate will have experience in production planning and scheduling, as well as strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Requirements and Duties
This role will be responsible and accountable for:
- Consult with production supervisor to schedule production runs in a cost and time-efficient manner
- Prepare the processes in coordinating all gate department production items including:
o Pipe cutting
o Welding
o Fabrication
o Powder coating
- Organize and prioritize daily production requirements based on incoming build work orders
- Responsible for updating the system on a daily basis to record completed items and projected completions with accuracy
- Coordinate and communicate with buyer for any procurement items including special or non-stock items and department consumables
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to gate production issues
- Collaborate closely with Operations Manager and department leads to ensure timely completion of production schedule & orders
- Prepare and maintain various reports on the progress of work, materials used, rates of production and other production information, using computerized systems.
- Provides additional backup support for co-workers as required
- Enforce safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work environment
- Maintains a clean and organized area
Qualifications and Skills
- Post secondary education is considered an asset. Similar work experience will be considered.
- Previous experience in a production role within manufacturing industry is an asset.
- Ability to manage a heavy workload and operate efficiently (multi task)
- Strong time management, organization and planning skills with attention to detail
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills combined with computer proficiency
- Professional & positive attitude to tackle problems
- Ability to get along with various personality types and play an active role in the team
