Job Description
We are currently seeking a motivated and dependable HVAC Apprentice (Sheet Metal Apprentice) to join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced sheet metal workers to assist with the fabrication, installation, modification, and maintenance of commercial and industrial HVAC ductwork and related sheet metal systems. Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed sheet metal workers with the fabrication, installation, and repair of HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications under the guidance of experienced tradespeople.
- Measure, cut, bend, assemble, and install sheet metal components using hand and power tools.
- Assist with the installation of ductwork, ventilation systems, dampers, diffusers, grilles, and related HVAC equipment.
- Operate sheet metal fabrication equipment safely and efficiently under supervision.
- Install supports, hangers, and other hardware required for HVAC systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Load, unload, and organize materials, tools, and equipment on job sites.
- Work collaboratively with other trades to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Accurately document work performed and continue developing trade knowledge through on-the-job training and apprenticeship education.
Qualifications
- Registered Sheet Metal Apprentice (all apprenticeship levels are encouraged to apply).
- Valid G Class driver's licence.
- Basic knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, HVAC duct systems, and construction practices is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings is considered an asset.
- Experience using hand and power tools is considered an asset.
- Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and take direction.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently when appropriate while following the direction of licensed sheet metal workers.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including lifting heavy materials, working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.

Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
