About Us
Big Bear Education is an education center in Richmond, BC, offering high-quality art, English, and enrichment programs for children.
Every year we run Spring, Summer, and Winter Camps that combine creativity, communication, and hands-on learning. Our goal is to help children build confidence, critical thinking, creativity, and strong communication skills in a fun and engaging environment.
We are currently hiring enthusiastic teachers for our 2026 Summer Camp, running July 27 to September 4, with opportunities for future collaboration during camps and after-school programs.
Student Age Groups
- 5–7 years old
- 8–12 years old
Teaching Subjects
Teachers may teach one or more of the following subjects:
- Public Speaking
- Debate
- STEAM Science
- Storytelling
- Social Studies
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons.
- Create an interactive classroom environment that encourages participation and curiosity.
- Help students develop confidence in communication, critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork.
- Prepare simple teaching materials and classroom activities.
- Work collaboratively with the camp team to create a positive learning experience.
- Provide encouragement and constructive feedback to students.
Requirements
- Native-level English proficiency.
- Experience teaching children (classroom, tutoring, camps, workshops, or similar).
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Passionate about working with children.
- Creative, energetic, patient, and reliable.
- Able to independently prepare lessons and classroom activities.
- Available to work during the Summer Camp period (July 27 – September 4).
- Ability to follow the organization's curriculum and teaching standards.
