I'm a man in my 40s with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), and I'm hiring someone to support me living my life at home, on my own terms. In this role, your approach and values matter more than your formal training or relevant experience. Schedule
- Part-time hours in the mornings (7am - 2pm) and/or evenings (3pm - 10pm)
- Weekdays and every-other weekends
What You'll Be Doing
- Personal care (toileting, hygiene, dressing, etc.)
- Activities of daily living (meal prep, feeding, light housekeeping, etc.)
- Positioning and transfers, including using a ceiling lift

- Can have a laugh and keep things light while still getting the work done
- Is patient, even-tempered, and brings a personable, positive energy
- Is confident and resourceful, with lots of life skills and common sense
- Is willing to learn and adapt to respect personal preferences
- Understands the importance of punctuality and dependability, rain or shine
Requirements
- No PSW certificate required – training will be provided
- Vulnerable sector police check required (cost reimbursed)
- First Aid and liability insurance may be required (cost reimbursed)
