Job Overview
We are seeking friendly and efficient Coffee Shop Assistants to join our team at a brand new shop in downtown Grand Falls-Windsor! This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving beverages and food items, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, strong time management skills, and experience in food service or barista roles. Duties
- Take customer orders accurately using POS systems, including Square POS
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and light food items in accordance with company standards
- Handle cash transactions and perform cashiering duties with basic math skills
- Ensure food safety and proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, equipment, and dining space
- Assist in food preparation and serving to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Manage multiple tasks efficiently through effective time management
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with customers professionally and courteously
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts
Requirements
- Previous experience in the food industry or as a barista is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with POS systems, especially Square POS, is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude
- Ability to handle cash handling responsibilities accurately and efficiently
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Good math skills for cash handling and basic transactions
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours
- Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if needed

Pay: $16.50-$20.00 per hour
