ABOUT THE ROLE
Purpose
Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant is responsible for effectively managing the full cycle accounting process, preparing and analyzing reporting packages and completing reconciliations.
Responsibilities

Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entriestoaccounts. Perform ongoing review investigation and correction to ensure consistency and accuracy

Analyze financial information detailing assets,liabilitiesand capital. Reconcile bank accounts, balancesheet, and intercompany accounts. Investigate and present solutions for any related discrepancies

Perform intercompany consolidation and monthly settlement of intercompany transactions

Monitor compliance with Sysco’s policies, procedures & accounting standards,e.g.SOX, FAMM, etc.

Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries,documentsand reports

Maintain fixed assets sub-ledgerand reporting and ensure all fixed asset transactions aresubmittedto the fixed asset system ona timelybasis

Prepare weekly and monthly reporting for internal,Corporateoffice and external reporting.

Act as a subject matter expert for internal departments; provideaccurateandtimelyinformation and support to the Manager, Financial Analysis and Reporting and Corporate Controller

Collaborate with other members of the Finance Team to achieve overall operating objectives

Conduct ad hoc projects asrequired

Complies withSysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.

Skills

Must have a minimum of 1-2 years in an accounting related role.

High School diplomarequired
-
Completion of Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related degree preferred.

CPA designation or currently working toward an accounting designation preferred.

Intermediateproficiencyin Microsoft Office;proficiencyin AS400 system a plus
