Payroll & Finance Coordinator
32 Hours per Week | In Office | GTA
About Canaray
Canaray is an oral radiology organization providing advanced dental imaging services across Ontario. We support dental professionals with specialized imaging and diagnostic reporting while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and patient care.
We are seeking a Payroll & Finance Coordinator to manage payroll operations and support core finance functions. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys structured work, takes pride in accuracy, and values accountability and confidentiality.
What You'll Do
Payroll
- Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
- Review, audit, and reconcile timesheets using Ceridian Dayforce and PowerPay
- Maintain payroll records for new hires, terminations, wage changes, benefits, vacation, and deductions
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, employment standards, and company policies
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Prepare payroll reports and support year-end payroll activities, including T4 preparation and reconciliation
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies before payroll submission
Finance & Administration
- Process vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements
- Support accounts payable functions and payment tracking
- Maintain organized payroll and financial records
- Assist with reporting, reconciliations, and other finance-related administrative tasks as required
What You Bring
- PCP (Payroll Compliance Professional) designation
- 2–3 years of payroll processing experience
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and employment standards
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce and/or PowerPay preferred
- Advanced attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with HR and leadership
Work Details
- 32 hours per week (4 days per week)
- In-office position
- Some schedule flexibility is required during payroll processing periods
- Reports to the Human Resources Manager
Compensation & Benefits
- $32–$36 per hour, depending on experience
- 100% employer-paid benefits package
- Stable schedule with a consistent four-day work week
What Success Looks Like
By 30 Days
- Fully trained on Ceridian Dayforce, PowerPay, and internal payroll procedures
- Understands employee classifications, compensation structures, and payroll cycles
- Processing payroll with close review and minimal corrections
- Established working relationships with HR, leadership, and bookkeeping partners
By 60 Days
- Independently processing bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule
- Resolving employee payroll inquiries confidently and correctly
- Managing invoices and reimbursements with minimal oversight
- Maintaining organized, audit-ready payroll and finance records
By 90 Days
- Consistently accurate payroll processing with no recurring errors
- Proactively identifying discrepancies and compliance risks before payroll finalization
- Trusted internal resource for payroll-related questions
- Fully integrated with HR processes related to payroll, benefits, and reporting
