Marmo Waste Services is a fast growing company, specializing in collecting waste from Molok semi-inground waste containers. Headquartered in Mount Forest and operating out of Alliston, we’re looking for an energetic individual to fill a full of Waste Collection Operator, Tuesday to Saturday.
Reporting to the Manager, the Waste Collection Operator will complete the collection routes as assigned, demonstrating outstanding customer service and attention to detail at all pickup locations. Responsibilities include driving an automatic transmission garbage truck equipped with a remote operated articulating crane while following safe driving/operating procedures and regulations, and completing all required pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Other duties as required by the company from time to time.
Skills and Attributes
- Proven aptitude at handling large vehicles in an urban area
- Ability to plan ahead and show initiative while working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Technical knowledge and understanding of the waste and recycling industry is considered an asset
- Hands on technical and mechanical skills an advantage
- This position requires medium to heavy work (ability to lift 15-35 lbs)
- Involves sitting, lifting, walking and raising objects, sometimes above head level
- Excellent hand eye coordination
Education and Experience
- Minimum two years commercial driving experience in heavy vehicles required.
- DZ or AZ license required.
- Prior experience in the environmental service industry an asset
- Prior experience with articulated cranes an asset
Saturday Shift Premium, Daily Overtime after 9 hours.
