- The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for dispensing medication in accordance with a physician's prescription.
- The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for checking compliance packages, medication strips, compounds and community prescriptions.
- The Pharmacy Technician must understand the composition of medicines, as well as the laws that regulate their manufacture and sale.
- The Technician is responsible for ordering and storing medicines, keeping them safe, pure, and effective.
- The Pharmacy Technician is required to maintain accurate records of any drug they handle to ensure that the best treatment option has been chosen and work closely with health care professionals and other Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants. Using accepted pharmaceutical techniques, the Pharmacy Technician fills prescriptions which may be ordered by an in-person prescription, a fax or telephone call, in which security etiquette must be strictly adhered to in order to certify the identity of the physician.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of a recognized Pharmacy Technician Diploma
- Must be registered with the Alberta College of Pharmacy
- Previous experience in a similar role
