DB Custom Homes is a high-end luxury home building company on the cutting edge of modern design. We are looking for an ambitious, focused and driven individual to join our growing team as our Working Site Supervisor. This is a hybrid role requiring both leadership and trade expertise. The ideal candidate has strong site management experience in custom residential construction, along with the ability to contribute directly to the build when needed. This would be a long-term opportunity.
What you will accomplish in this role:
- In this hands-on leadership role, you will be helping to set the tone on our sites while working alongside our trades to ensure our high-quality standards are being met
- Work alongside the Operations Manager to facilitate quality home construction, safe working conditions, and extraordinary customer service
- Supervise all sub trades, suppliers and field personnel on the project site on a daily basis
- Daily planning of project tasks to ensure that projects are finished on time, within budget, and to consistently high quality standards
- Utilizing and updating our construction management software to keep projects on track
- Load or unload materials to be used in construction
- Help to tie up loose ends at job sites - experience in drywalling, framing, taping, paint touch ups, basic carpentry is an asset
- Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards
- Maintain cleanliness and order during tasks, and assist in ensuring job site is clean and organized at all times
- Experience in using hand tools and power tools
- Role will involve approximately 80% working hands-on, and 20% management
Requirements:
- Reading comprehension of technical documents and blueprints
- Ability to build and follow construction schedules
- Minimum of 3 years construction experience and 2 years in a leadership role
- A good understanding of current construction practices and Ontario Building Code - On-site building experience in residential construction and familiarity with OBC Part 9
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, time management and organizational skills
- A strong, dedicated work ethic matched with the desire to foster a positive working environment for your team, take initiative and maintain professionalism and a positive attitude at all times
- Must have a valid G Driver’s License, reliable vehicle and safety boots
$27-$32/hr with opportunities for growth
