Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Cement Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying finishing techniques to concrete surfaces, ensuring smooth, durable, and high-quality results on various construction projects. Your expertise will help transform raw concrete into polished floors, walkways, and other structures that meet precise specifications. Duties
- Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete using hand tools such as trowels, floats, and edgers to achieve desired textures and levels.
- Operate power tools including power trowels, screeds, and grinders to expedite finishing processes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate application of concrete finishes.
- Install rebar reinforcement and assist with form setting to prepare surfaces for pouring concrete.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct restoration and renovation work by repairing existing concrete surfaces or modifying structures as needed.
- Use masonry skills for related tasks such as caulking, flooring installation, and minor carpentry or welding tasks to support project requirements.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Proficiency in rebar installation, concrete forming, and blueprint reading.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools essential for concrete finishing and masonry work.
- Experience with construction projects involving flooring installation, restoration, or renovation.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of welding techniques beneficial for structural repairs or modifications.
- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks combined with excellent attention to detail for achieving smooth finishes.
