DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITES

Follow the prep list created by CDP, Sous Chef and/or Chef to plan duties

Label and stock all ingredients on shelves in an organized manner and easily accessible using basic FIFO principles
-
Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking by following standardized recipes.

Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.

Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
-
Prepare simple dishes such as salads, sandwiches and entrees when required.
-
Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.

Ensure all food and other items are stored properly

Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL

High school diploma
-
Training from a culinary school is preferred
-
Must have own reliable transportation
-
Food Handling Certificate required
-
Basic knife handling skills required
-
Required to work a rotating schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
-
A team player with good communication skills
-
Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure

Attention to detail and team oriented
-
Maintain good energy levels and professionalism
-
Good organizational skills
-
First Aid Certificate/ CPR an asset
