Position Overview
As a Document Controller, you will have the opportunity to maintain and process official project documents for the company. Your pride in ensuring that all documents are consistent and professional will be a vital part of this diverse and interesting position.
Responsibilities:

Track, transmit, and accurately file paper and electronic engineering documents, drawings and correspondence

Generates and distributes reports as required by project

Responds to internal and external drawing and document requests

Performs File Transfer Protocol (FTP) or similar site uploads and downloads
-
Uploads documentations to SharePoint site and inputs the correct META data
-
Responsible for the compilation of vendor data books according to document control standards and client requirements

Handle file drawings and documents by processing engineering drawing turnovers, electronically scanning documents, and maintaining data files
-
Coordinates and communicates with clients and vendors to expedite deliverables and issue final documentation within project deadlines

Interact with engineering disciplines to handle the issuance of client engineering documentation and vendor information

Coordinates and provides routine quality checks on all outgoing documentation in accordance with company and client guidelines

Ensure that all procedures and internal standards are adhered to, documentation is consistent and quality control standards are maintained during all stages of engineering document and drawing processing

Sets up project requirements and document control files for both engineering and supplier documents

Interfaces with IT and engineering groups to set up electronic systems on projects

Recommends methods and techniques for improving quality, productivity, and deadline schedules

Assists team lead with training and supervising junior staff
Qualifications:
-
Completion of high school and/or related certificate/technical diploma
-
2-8 years of data entry, administrative, and/or document control experience
-
Open-minded with the ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision

Experience in an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) environment would be an asset

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team
-
Strong ability in making critical decisions and problem solving

Excellent follow-up skills with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment

Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
-
Intermediate working knowledge of engineering terminology with the ability to understand information on drawings, documentation and engineering document management systems

Experience in compiling project data books

Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks effectively

Ability to meet project timelines and effectively perform in a high pressure and team-based environment

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Share Point Services, LiveLink, EDMS software, and Bluebeam is an asset.

Compensation
The salary for this role is based on an average of 37.5 hours a week. The estimated range is between $32.5-$37.5 hourly,, depending on skills and experience.
