About the Role
We are seeking a Welder | Fitter to join our team at our shop in Princeton, Ontario. This is an exciting time to be a part of Knill Fabrication Ltd. Not only are we a growing company, but we are undergoing a lot of technological change to improve the processes and control within our company.
The Welder | Fitter is responsible for welding and fitting metal parts and components according to technical drawings and specifications. This role requires precision and attention to detail to ensure structural integrity and adherence to safety standards.
Skills
- 3+ years’ experience in metal fabrication or similar trade
- CWB GMAW/ FCAW Certification is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- A desire to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
- Proficient problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
Technical Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and drawings including weld symbols
- Follow blueprints and building plans
- Determine the appropriate welding and fabrication equipment or methods based on requirements
- Set up metalwork equipment including rollers, drill presses, mills, plasma cutters, brakes and saws
- Operate basic hand tools and powered hand tools. i.e., drills, disc grinders etc.
- Work independently and within a team environment
- Fabricate structural and non-structural metal assemblies
- Follow CWB-approved procedures when specified
- Keep track of stock items and start the process of replacing levels when required
- Assist in project and process prototyping and development
- Install interior and exterior structures and fixtures
- Mechanical knowledge is an asset
