We are seeking an experienced Technical Solution Architect to join the Project Management Office (PMO) within our Atlantic Business Unit, supporting opportunities across digital banking, core banking, and managed services.
The Technical Solution Architect will support the technical intake and solutioning process, translating business and client requirements into clear technical scope, coordinating technical contributors, developing Statements of Work (SOWs), reviewing estimates, and identifying risks, assumptions, and dependencies before opportunities transition into delivery.
The successful candidate will bring a broad technical background across applications, integration, cloud, infrastructure, security, data, and operations. This role does not require deep specialization across every domain but does require sufficient technical knowledge to assess proposed solutions, challenge assumptions and estimates, and engage the appropriate architects and subject matter experts when deeper expertise is required.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Lead technical solutioning from initial intake through proposal and transition to delivery.
- Translate requirements into technical scope, deliverables, assumptions, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and work packages.
- Develop and contribute to SOWs, estimates, proposals, solution descriptions, and technical responses.
- Coordinate technical inputs across application, integration, cloud, infrastructure, data, cybersecurity, and operations teams.
- Review and challenge estimates, identifying risks, gaps, constraints, dependencies, and scope issues.
- Engage architects, engineers, and subject matter experts as required.
- Ensure solutions align with client objectives, delivery capabilities, security requirements, and commercial expectations.
- Support solution reviews, bid governance, architecture assurance, and transition to delivery or managed services.
- Produce clear technical diagrams and documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
- 5+ years in solution architecture, technical consulting, technology delivery, pre-sales, bid management, or related roles.
- Broad architecture knowledge across applications, integration, cloud, infrastructure, security, data, and operations.
- Experience developing SOWs, technical estimates, proposals, and delivery approaches.
- Knowledge of APIs, middleware, integration patterns, Azure and/or AWS, Agile, DevOps, security, and IT service management.
- Strong ability to assess technical scope, effort, risks, dependencies, and operational requirements.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Assets
- Financial services or banking experience, including digital or core banking.
- Experience with managed services and service transition.
- Experience with AKS, containers, IIS, SQL Server, Terraform/Bicep, MuleSoft, Concert API, or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, or similar frameworks.
