Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Assistant Supply Team Members to support classroom activities and ensure a nurturing environment for young children. This role involves assisting with daily classroom routines, engaging with children, and supporting teachers in delivering quality early childhood education. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to fostering a positive learning experience.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and activities
- Support children during playtime, meals, and rest periods
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
- Provide caregiving support to children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities
- Engage children in educational and developmental activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive growth
- Assist with classroom supplies and materials management to ensure availability for daily use
- Observe and document children's progress and behavior as directed by teachers
- Foster positive interactions and build trusting relationships with children and their families
Requirements
- Prior classroom experience or working with children aged 0-4 years
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and caregiving techniques
- Strong communication skills and patience when working with young children
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team of educators and caregivers
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting children's development
- Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a nurturing environment
- Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to providing quality care for children
- Must have Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
- Must have Clear Vulnerable Sector Check within the last six months
- Must have up to date immunizations and TB test completed within the last six months
- Must be able to commute reliably to Toronto
