Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in preparing accurate project bids, analyzing costs, and supporting project planning efforts. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse construction projects, utilizing your expertise in estimating and project management to contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality construction services. The Construction Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to develop competitive and comprehensive proposals.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed construction estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project requirements using tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
- Develop accurate pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services to ensure competitive bids.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to negotiate terms, scope, and pricing to secure project wins.
- Manage the estimation process from initial inquiry through final bid submission, ensuring all aspects are thoroughly evaluated.
- Assist in project management tasks by providing cost analysis and budget tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and interpret construction documents to identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new estimating software or techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and terminology.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating or project management software.
- Excellent negotiation skills to effectively communicate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple estimates simultaneously.
- Knowledge of pricing strategies within the construction industry and ability to develop competitive bids.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and presenting estimates clearly.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and produce accurate cost projections.
- Relevant educational background or certifications in construction management or related fields is preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Water/waste water project experience
Pay: $51,914.31-$114,946.06 per year
