Inland Industrial Supply Ltd. is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-driven Service Technician to join our team in a shop-based role specializing in Self-Retracting Lifelines (SRLs) and fall protection equipment.
This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who takes pride in precision work and understands the critical importance of safety compliance. In this position, you will play a key role in protecting workers at height by ensuring all equipment is thoroughly inspected, repaired, and certified to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
· Inspect, test, and certify self-retracting lifelines (SRLs) and fall protection equipment
· Disassemble, repair, and reassemble SRLs, including cables, webbing, and braking systems
· Perform detailed functional testing to ensure proper retraction and locking mechanisms
· Identify wear, defects, corrosion, or damage and complete necessary repairs
· Maintain accurate inspection logs, service records, and certification documentation
· Tag and label equipment to reflect compliance and inspection status
· Ensure all work meets manufacturer guidelines and CSA / ANSI safety standards
Skills and Abilities
· High attention to detail with the ability to follow technical procedures accurately
· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
· Good communication and time management skills
· Strong organizational and documentation abilities
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
· Physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs
· Ability to stand and work for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Previous experience in a mechanical, technician, or repair role is preferred
· Experience with fall protection equipment is an asset
· Comfortable using hand tools and working with small mechanical components
· Experience in warehouse, production, or assembly environments is an asset (training provided for the right candidate)
· Forklift experience is an asset, but not required
· Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety procedures
· Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work collaboratively within a team
